]]> I’m happy to announce that classes from SD60 can get a free bus trip to the Walk the Solar System route in the 2013-2014 school year with the following provisions:

  • Class provides a picture that can be posted on this website (no one to be included that has been flagged via the privacy waivers)
  • Class provides a KWL chart that the class completes together (what I Knew before, what I Want to know more about, what I Learned) that we can post online. Here’s an example organizer at http://www.eduplace.com/graphicorganizer/pdf/kwl.pdf but please use any you wish.

School Staff who are booking the bus can get the billing code by emailing Jarrod Bell.

]]> There is some early work toward possibly re-routing the Trans Canada Trail, which currently runs along the Alaska Highway through Fort St John, to along the City of Fort St John bypass trail. This would be the same trail that Walk the Solar System is on.

If you would like to write a letter of support to change the Trans Canada Trail from the Alaska Highway to the City of Fort St John bypass trail including Walk the Solar System you can send them to jbell@prn.bc.ca and I will pass it along to the Trans Canada Trails Facilitator for Trails BC.
